Tranquil waters set against a backdrop of charming forests, wildflowers, and rocky cliffs.

These are only some of the reasons that Thetis Lake is one of the most popular lakes in the Victoria area. The lake is split into Lower Thetis Lake and Upper Thetis Lake, but locals will be typically visiting the beaches and trails of Lower Thetis Lake.

About:

A perfect place for a lake stand up paddleboard. No boats are allowed and you can even journey over to an island and hang out there for the afternoon. We recommend paddling around island and when you get to the end of Lower Thetis Lake you go under the bridge and then cruise around Upper Thetis Lake. You may even be enticed to stop and watch some locals doing some cliff jumping. This lake has it all!

Beaches:

The main beach can be quite busy with swimmers and tourists, but it serves as an excellent location to launch your paddleboards. However, don’t let the crowd scare you off. Once you leave the beach you leave the people behind as well. Out on the lake itself, the waters are calm and peaceful, with the only interruptions being the occasional fisherman, or fellow Stand-up Paddle boarder.

Sights:

An abundance of wildlife can be witnessed throughout the lake. Everything from schools of fish, turtles, deer, and local birds such as Blue Heron, Bald Eagles, Osprey, and hummingbirds can appear to accompany you on your journey through the beautiful Greater Victoria Scenery.

We hope that you enjoy this local gem as much as we do!

TOTAL PADDLE TIME: Approximately 1.5 – 2 Hours.

MEETING LOCATION: We meet at the main beach on the left hand side. Park in the main parking lot and walk up to the main beach, parking is $2.25 for the day.
