About

Beaver Lake is the smaller of the two conjoined lakes that make up “Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park”. This park is a local favourite for outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, trail running, fishing, swimming, or just hanging out by the water.

As a regional park, these lakes are very easy to access, and have all the standard amenities. These include bathrooms, change rooms, garbage cans, picnic areas, children’s play area’s, and a large network of trails/walkways for the public to enjoy.

Paddle Time

approximately 1.5-2 hours, but can be extended by venturing into Elk Lake as well.

Difficulty

Beginner – Intermediate. Calm lake conditions with the exception of windy days. More advanced paddlers can extend the paddle distance in order to receive a greater challenge.

The park is located in Saanich, in the Greater Victoria area. Turn on to “Elk Lake Dr.” off of “Patricia Bay Hwy/ Highway 17”. Follow Elk Lake Dr. for a short distance, and turn right on to “Beaver Lake Rd.”

Follow Beaver lake Rd. through the woods until you reach the first major parking lot, which parallels a popular park. You will be able to see the water past the park and children’s play area.
